1. A retailer owned by an affiliated wholesaler. An affiliated wholesaler owns either a majority or a significant minority stake in the affiliated retailer in order to control directly or indirectly how its products are marketed. That is, the affiliated retailer sells the affiliated wholesaler's products to consumers.

2. A group of retailers that band together for marketing purposes.
