On a ticker tape or stock table, a symbol describing a company in bankruptcy. The symbol vj precedes the name of the company on the tape or table.

Used in listed stock and bond transaction tables in newspapers to indicate that the firm issuing the security is in bankruptcy or receivership, or that the firm is being reorganized under bankruptcy. It also indicates securities assumed by such companies: vj Robbins.
