trader/dealer

trader/dealer

generic terms which cover both businesses which take title to goods (that is, purchase goods) which they then on-sell to customers – food RETAILERS, car dealers; and businesses which act purely in an agency or brokerage capacity, bringing together buyers and sellers of a good or service – ESTATE AGENTS, INSURANCE BROKERS. Traders and dealers thus act as ‘middlemen’ or ‘market intermediaries’ in the economic system.
