Security Depository

An organization where security certificates are stored until they are ready to be transferred at a later date to the holder or to another party.

security depository

A centralized location in which security certificates are placed and stored for later transfer. (Transfers usually take place by book entry rather than by physical movement.) Also called depository. See also Depository Trust Company.
