PIPS is now member of Parliamentary Research Centers of 12 countries of Middle East, Asia and North Africa and it is already providing guidance to Sri Lankan Parliament to set up their PRC.
Acting Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi after assuming the Presidency of
PIPS Board of Governors approved assigning of acting charge for the post of Executive Director (
PIPS) to Director (Research and IT) Mohammad Rashid Mehfooz Zaka for a period of three months.
Expressing his sentiments on the occasion, Deputy Speaker NA and Vice President
PIPS Faisal Karim Kundi appreciated the gesture and tradition set by the Chairman Senate and President
PIPS by giving farewell to outgoing members of NA who were part and parcel of PIVS board of governors and played important role not in establishment of
PIPS through an act of Parliament in 2008 as well as up to its present phase of consolidation.
Zafarullah Khan was appointed as
PIPS executive director for two year in May 2016 on contract basis.
He expressed his desire for further expediting enactment of legislation, and directed the
PIPS administration to provide all out support to the parliamentarians in that regard.
The main agenda of this meeting was to review the performance of Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services (
PIPS) and to further enhance its skills for capacity building of Parliamentarians and staff of the Parliament.
