MW

The two-character ISO 3166 country code for MALAWI.

MW

1. ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code for the Republic of Malawi. This is the code used in international transactions to and from Malawian bank accounts.

2. ISO 3166-2 geocode for Malawi. This is used as an international standard for shipping to Malawi. Each district has its own code with the prefix "MW." For example, the code for Dowa District is ISO 3166-2:MW-DO. Additionally, three regions in Malawi have codes; for example the code for the Central Region (wherein lies Dowa District) is ISO 3166-2:MW-C.

"Class 3B lasers emitting over 50 milliwatts can burn objects and possibly cause fires when used at close range.
We have a design that achieves 100Mbps data rate, consuming less than 200 milliwatts of power."
By comparison, simple, un-optimized energy harvesting circuits--for example, the type used to power LEDs on "smart" skis--can only generate a few milliwatts. The researchers say the new circuit offers an alternative to disposable batteries for wearable electronic devices or for wireless communication systems.
Using their laboratory prototype developed from off-the-shelf parts, the Penn State researchers can generate 50 milliwatts. Although they have not tried it, they believe the motion of a runner could be harnessed to generate enough power to run a portable electronic music device.
Each beam is only about half a degree wide and is very low power -- 30 milliwatts, about the same as an illuminated watch.
In addition each chip consumes just 150 milliwatts of power at 3.3 volts to provide better overall system performance and lower operating costs.
This new application is made possible by the ultra- low power requirements (less than 3 milliwatts) and ultra- small silicon die size of the sensor, which produces color video of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract.
Although compact, 12.0 x 12.9 x 11.3 mm3, the Micro K in SMT can handle a limiting continuous current of 30 amperes with a rated power consumption of 640 milliwatts. It is suitable for applications, such as rear window defoggers, seat heating, lamp loads and windshield wiper controls.
Meyer said that the power consumption was a question of good design, noting that MIPS 64-bit chips required less than two milliwatts of power per MHz.
And the laser is safe--only 5 milliwatts in strength.
"These are very low-powered devices, using less than 100 milliwatts, compared with 1 watt for some external cellular devices.
Portable laser devices like AstroBeam and many laser pointers generally emit 5 milliwatts or less of laser light.
