line of balance (LOB) chart

a chart which combines information on agreed product DELIVERY DATES with data on the availability of components required to make the products. LOB charts are used in PRODUCTION SCHEDULING to ensure that the correct number of components are available at the appropriate times, so that final assembly of the product can be completed by its scheduled date in time to meet promised delivery dates.
