Based on the corresponding node's PDR and neighbor node's PDR, it can make decision whether the node is jammed or not.
The problem is more complex when the jammed link uses directional antennas, but it can still be solved.
Since the center-frequency jamming signals are generated and controlled within the RJU, only receivers fitted with an RJU are jammed. No other OPS receivers are affected.
This solution is adequate in a low-threat-density environment, when only a small number of emitters must be jammed. However, the leakage of power from the jammer into the receiver within the frequency bands where the jammer is radiating tends to desensitize the receiver.
The last two "EW 101" columns have classified jamming as either "stand-off" or "self-protection." Two other important classifications are "cover" and "deceptive." Cover jamming, which typically uses noise modulation, simply decreases the signal-to-"noise" ratio in the jammed receiver as much as possible.
Burn-through occurs when the jamming-to-signal (J/S) ratio is reduced to the point where the receiver being jammed can adequately do its job.
This solution is adequate in a low-density threat environment when only a small number of emmtters must be jammed. However, the leakage of power from the jammer into the receiver within the frequency bands where the jammer is radiating tends to desensitize the receiver.
