any service, such as banking, insurance and tourism, that cannot be seen and recorded as it crosses boundaries between countries. Invisible exports and imports, together with VISIBLE EXPORTS AND IMPORTS, make up the CURRENT ACCOUNT of a country's BALANCE OF PAYMENTS. See EXPORT, IMPORT.
