Gunslinger

An aggressive portfolio manager who makes risky investments, typically in margin accounts, in search of high returns.

Gunslinger

A money manager who is willing to take big risks to increase the potential return on investments. A gunslinger, for example, would be more likely to invest in the IPO of a company with a new and exciting product about which little is known, than to invest in the secured bond issued by a company everyone knows and trusts. The term especially refers to money managers who buy the risky securities on margin. See also: Risk lover.
