These people may have some common features in their striata and
frontal poles. These are merely working hypotheses for now, but it is possible to verify them by analyzing the functions and structure of the brain through neuroimaging.
Functional MRI showed improved blood flow in three brain regions involved with encoding and memorization of nonverbal associations: the right lingual gyrus, the occipital fusiform gyrus, and the right
frontal pole.
Especially noticeable in this photograph, however, is the Haida
frontal pole visible at the rear of the hall, somewhat obscured by strange, protruding skulls of other specimens.
