The distance between the rostral ends of the embryonic disc increases as the spectrum of parapagus conjoined twins progresses from diprosopus to dicephalus.
For simplicity reasons, we emphasize that in the primitive streak region, where the cells are delaminating, two different types of interactions are possible: the microenvironment, 1 only with the hypoblast, exactly, in the middle region of the embryo (Figure 3) or the microenvironment 2, simultaneously with the hypoblast and the extraembryonic mesoderm in lateral ends of the embryonic disc (Figure 3).
