But when the engine gets cold, the moisture re-condenses inside the
distributor cap, and on the next rainy morning, you have the same problem.
Well, a peep wing mirror, maybe, or a baby moon hub cap, or there again, what about a coloured
distributor cap?
Every 400-500 hours or 3 months: Inspect and adjust belts; inspect ignition system (
distributor cap and rotor, ignition coil, and spark plug wires).
A bad crank-angle sensor could interrupt the spark, as could a failure of any part of the secondary ignition system, like the
distributor cap, rotor, coil wire or coil.
The major obvious problem was a badly broken
distributor cap. Fortunately the locating tab was still intact, so careful work with black electrical tape resulted in what looked like a cap that might distribute the spark properly.
