delegation

the passing of certain duties or decisions by a manager or SUPERVISOR to a subordinate whilst still retaining overall AUTHORITY for them, Delegation can increase a subordinate's JOB SATISFACTION whilst reducing the workload of a manager. See MANAGEMENT.
