Ultra3 SCSI has six new features in its specification, including Double Transition Clocking (DTC), Cyclic Redundancy Check
(CRC), Domain Validation, Protection for Asynchronous Information Phase (AIP), Packetization, and Quick Arbitration and Selection (QAS).

The CoreMark workload contains several commonly used algorithms that include matrix manipulation to allow for the use of MAC and math operations, linked-list manipulation to exercise the use of pointers, state machine operation (common use of data dependent branches), and Cyclic Redundancy Check
Support for advanced physical layer features including data whitening, forward error correction (FEC), and cyclic redundancy check
(CRC) support, all of which are designed to enhance end-to-end system performance
In addition, with packetized SCSI, Cyclic Redundancy Check
(CRC) is automatic, protecting all transmissions.
For household appliances that need to comply with IEC60730 safety standards, an independently clocked watchdog/COP and cyclic redundancy check
(CRC) engine deliver clock failure protection and memory content validation.
