Laboratory investigations showed haemoglobin 5.7gm./dl; Total leukocyte count 614.8x10 9 /l, Myeloblast 65%, Promyelocytes 10%, Myelocytes 26%, Metamyelocytes 18%, Band cells 4%, Neutrophils 30% and Lymphocytes 7%: ESR 2mm, platelets 709x10 12 /L.
Laboratory tests revealed the following: hemoglobin 11.7 g/dL, white blood cell count 21.16x[10.sup.3]/[micro]L with 85% neutrophils and 7% band cells, erythrocyte sedimentation rate 100 mm/h, and C-reactive protein level 15 mg/dL (normal<0.8 mg/dL).
His leukocyte count was 2.4 x [10.sup.3] cells/[micro]L with 42% band cells, creatinine level was 2.5 mg/dL, and lactic acid level was 1.8 mg/dL.
