a professional body such as the Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, which is recognized as a self-regulating organization for maintaining standards of good business practice under the terms of the UK FINANCIAL SERVICES ACT 1986.

recognized professional body (RPB)

a professional body, such as the Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, that is recognized as a regulating organization under the terms of the UK FINANCIAL SERVICES ACT 1986. RPBs are responsible for regulating their members in relation to their work in advising clients about investments.
