fixed factor input

a FACTOR INPUT to the production process that cannot be increased or reduced in the SHORT RUN. This applies particularly to capital inputs such as (given) plant and equipment. See VARIABLE FACTOR INPUT, RETURNS TO THE VARIABLE FACTOR INPUT, FIXED COSTS.
