Window Guaranteed Investment Contract

Window Guaranteed Investment Contract

A pension plan purchased through a bank or an insurance company in which one puts a series of payments in an account such that the principal is guaranteed. After retirement, one may receive payments from the investment. Window GICs contrast with most guaranteed investment contracts in that they are purchased over time with a series or payments rather than with a lump sum.
