Information available at the same time. To test
option-pricing models, the price of the
option and of the
underlying should be synchronous and reflect the same moment in the
market.

Investment decisions must be made according to data synchronous to the general public in order to avoid committing
insider trading. Likewise, in
options, one must use synchronous data in order to evaluate the validity of the various option pricing models.
