Mandatory Redemption Schedule
The schedule according to which the
issuer of a
bond with a
sinking fund provision must set aside
funds to
repay the bond at
maturity. Bonds with sinking fund provisions require the
issuer to put money aside to repay bondholders at maturity. This reduces the
risk of
default. The schedule according to which these funds are put aside is the mandatory redemption schedule.
