Engineering Employers' Federation (EEF)

the UK federation of EMPLOYERS' ASSOCIATIONS representing employers in the engineering industry. Over 4,000 engineering firms are members of their regional Engineering Employers' Associations which in turn are affiliated to the EEF. Member firms are known as federated; nonmembers are nonfederated. In the past, the EEF negotiated WAGE RATES and HOURS OF WORK nationally with the industry's TRADE UNIONS. Now, wages and conditions are determined at individual companies or workplaces. See MULTI-EMPLOYER AGREEMENT.
