The time that elapses between receipt of payment from a customer and the deposit of the customer's check in the firm's bank account; the time required to process customer payments.

Corporate Processing Float

The time required to process a customer's payments. A company may receive a payment, but due to its bank's regulations, or a holiday, or some other reason, it may not be able to process the payment and take the money out of the customer's account for several hours to several days.
