Cardboard Box Index
Cardboard Box Index
A measure of the production of cardboard boxes. The cardboard box index is used to gauge the production of
consumer goods. Because the vast majority of non-durable goods are shipped in cardboard boxes, higher
demand for them usually equates to higher production of these goods. As such, the cardboard box index is considered a fairly reliable indicator of
industrial production.
