American Society of Appraisers

A professional organization for persons who estimate the value of property. It represents persons who evaluate real estate, gems, machinery, and other forms of property. It offers a certification program to persons who have at least five years of experience, who have completed an examination, and who have had at least two appraisals reviewed. It was established in 1936 and is based in Herndon, Virginia.
