As is the case for transit
photometry, if this wobble occurs regularly, then we might reasonably conclude that the gravitational tug of an orbiting planet is responsible.
The most frequently used methods to measure [Na.sub.+] and [K.sub.+] in the clinical laboratory is emission
photometry and ion-specific potentiometer electrodes (Henry, 1991).
By measuring eclipse times and supplementing these with
photometry obtained with the 1.3m MDM telescope on Kitt Peak some years before when the system was quiescent by our co-workers, Prof Joe Patterson and Jonathan Kemp of the Center for Backyard Astrophysics, we determined [P.sub.orb] as 84.8min.
Therefore, at least at this range of detection distance, the data indicate that the effect of color on detection distance is such that a red veiling stimulus must be 1.6 times more luminous (in terms of photopic
photometry) than a blue veiling stimulus.
Further, I obtained access to the
photometry of all of the stars observed by Hipparcos [2].
