A limitation of the present study may arise in the small number of samples, in particular of in vitro specimens (n = 3) and retrieval specimens in articulation with
ZrN multilayer surface (n = 1), which restricted the validity of the statistical analysis.
The purpose of this study is to deposit
ZrN and [(ZrTi).sub.x]N multiconstituent on 316 Stainless steel by a cathodic arc plasma evaporation technique from two different target sources Zr and Ti in a single process.
When binary materials such as TiN, TiC, and
ZrN are reacted with O, N, or C, or alloyed with another metal, the range of color possibilities is expanded.
