Vatu
The currency of Vanuatu. It was introduced when Vanuatu became independent in 1982, replacing the New Hebrides franc and the Australian dollar. It has no subdivisions; as a result, large transactions are sometimes quoted in "dollars," though the currency has no current relationship to the Australian dollar.
