Vacation Pay

Time for which an employee is paid even though he/she is on vacation. Many companies offer paid vacation time to employees after a certain period of employment. Some jurisdictions require paid vacations. If one has accumulated vacation time (based on length of employment) and quits or retires without using it, the employer often must pay for the time in cash.
