1. ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code for the United States of America. This is the code used in international transactions to and from American bank accounts.

2. ISO 3166-2 geocode for the United States. This is used as an international standard for shipping to the United States. Each American state, the federal district, and six outlying areas have their own codes with the prefix "US." For example, the code for the State of Oklahoma is ISO 3166-2:US-OK.
