But conference approved a statement by the
TUC general council declaring "unambiguous opposition" to any unilateral action against Iraq by the US or any other country.

The three-strong union group is Paul Kenny, GMB senior official of the
TUC general council, Clare Laycock, GMB senior official at the Ritz Casino in Mayfair, and Adrian Baker, the GMB steward at the Mint Casino in Kensington.
As a former union executive and a
TUC general council member, Len became well used to taking on management and governments alike.

TUC general council voiced its "unambiguous opposition" to America and Britain attacking Iraq without international support.
The former
TUC general council member was instrumental in the 1970s in negotiating the civil service pension scheme which still benefits civil servants of all levels today.
The vote came in spite of a concerted arm-twisting operation by Mr Brown who sent no fewer than 17 Cabinet ministers to
TUC general council dinner to try to placate the comrades.
Mr Brown was due to join members of the
TUC General Council for dinner in Brighton last night.
