TA-100 Index

TA-100 Index

An index of the 100 largest companies (by market capitalization) that trade on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The index is weighted for market capitalization; that is, price changes in stocks with higher market caps will affect the index more than stocks with lower market caps. The index is published every 30 seconds during a trading day by the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The TA-100 was first calculated in 1992.

8 October 2014 -- Israeli bourse The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange said its board of directors approved the launch of derivatives (options and futures) on the TA-100 index.
According to TASE officials, the new derivatives join existing products on a number of underlying assets - the TA-25 index, the TA-Banks index, the ILS/ exchange rate, the ILS/Euro exchange rate, and 10 individual stocks included in the TA-100 index.
The derivatives on the TA-100 index are scheduled to begin trading on Thursday, 29 January 2015.
