All types of RETAILER, ranging from SPECIALIST SHOPS to SUPERMARKETS can be organized to take advantage of the growth and competitive opportunities deriving from large-scale operations. Unlike single-shop concerns, chain stores, by operating a network of stores each located strategically in catchment areas serving large populations, are in a position to expand their sales potential. Moreover, by selling the same general range of products in all of their stores and utilizing a central buying system, chain stores are able to secure BULK BUYING price discounts from manufacturers.
