Special Administrative Region

In China, a province with a great deal political and economic autonomy. Special administrative regions largely govern their own affairs and even conduct (extremely limited) foreign policy. The special administrative regions, currently Hong Kong and Macau, are major players in international trade and as a result play a large role in bringing foreign currencies into China.
