South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation

Also called SAARC. An international organization dedicated to mutual assistance and economic cooperation among nations in South Asia. Heads of state of member nations meet once a year and foreign secretaries twice a year. It was established in 1985 and maintains its headquarters in Kathmandu.
