Sales Forecast

An estimate of a company's future sales based historical patterns, macroeconomic factors, and expected future trends. The sales forecast is important when a company is making financial plans; sales that fall short of the forecast may cause the company to be unable to meet the obligations it has assumed based on those financial plans.
