The most significant turnover decline, in turn, was registered in
retail sale of hardware, paints and glass (of 3.0 percent) and
retail sale of electrical household appliances (2.3 percent).
In August compared to the same month of 2013 the turnover increased more significantly in the
retail sale via mail order or via internet by 21.0%, in the
retail sale of automotive fuel by 11.1%, in the
retail sale of computers, peripheral units and software; telecommunications equipment by 5.5% and in the
retail sale of food, beverages and tobacco by 4.8%.
Romania showed the steepest
retail sales growth among EU member states (7.5 percent), followed by Malta (6.5 percent), Hungary and Slovenia (6.3 percent), Ireland and Lithuania (4.8 percent).
