R-value

A measure of the heat conductivity of material. The higher the R-value,the better the insulating qualities. The Federal Trade Commission,in something called the R-Value Rule, requires certain disclosures regarding insulation. Among other things, new home sellers must put the following in every sales contract: the type, thickness, and R-value of the insulation that will be installed in each part of the house.Failure to make the required disclosures amounts to a deceptive trade practice and is punishable by fines. For full text of the rule, see 16 CFR 460 available at the Government Printing Office Web site at www.gpo.gov.

All of this is important to precasters because it doesn't reduce the R-value over time.
The r-value was significantly negative in diabetic control group (group-1) and aliskerin treated group (group-4), prior to intervention and the conversion to positive r value supports the anti-diabetic role of aliskerin.
Samples were also classified based on: the [pH.sub.45min], defined by BENDALL & SWATLAND (1988) as PSE ([pH.sub.45min] <5.80) and RFN ([pH.sub.45min]>5.80); and [pH.sub.45min] and R-value, described by HONIKEL & FISHER (1977) as PSE (R-value>1.05 and [pH.sub.45min]<5.90), RFN (R-value [less than or equal to] 1.05) and DFD (R-value>1.05 and [pH.sub.45min]>5.95).
As noted in the announcement for this action, reliable value ratings for home insulation products were not available from the dawn of the modern industry until FTC first adopted the R-value Rule (16 CFR 460) in 1979 in an effort "to address the failure of the home insulation marketplace to provide essential pre-purchase information to consumers, primarily an insulation product's'R-value.'"
In the past, these applications typically involved heavy, hard-core doors with high R-values that minimized conduction (energy loss through the door panel).
Thicker panels can be constructed by increasing the number of layers to increase the R-value. Unlike foam insulation, the Mirrorpanel is constructed from renewable forest products resources.
The optimization of SPF physical properties, such as overall density, R-value, percent closed-cell content, etc., is extremely important.
* Structural insulated panels typically sandwich large sheets of expanded PS foam between oriented strand board (OSB), creating large wall systems with few seams, greater R-value, and improved strength.
* By using blue board and the R14-15 cellulose insulation, HFHMCA can boost the overall R-Value of a house to R17-18.
They have an R-value of 3.6 per inch, which is similar to the more toxic types but are about three times the cost of fiberglass.
Each of the computed r-value was compared with the relevant critical r-value at 0.05 significance levels, given the degrees of freedom.
