Positive Volume Index
An index that tracks trading days with high trading volume. Some technical analysts recommend against trading on days with high volume because they advise against conducting the same transactions that most investors (including the bad ones) are conducting. As a result, these analysts recommend conducting trades on days when the PVI is low. See also: Negative volume index.
