Owner Control Investigation
In Germany, an investigation conducted when a bank attempts to purchase more than a 10% stake in a German financial institution. The investigation ensures that the buyer is sufficiently transparent and well-capitalized to make the sale viable. BaFin (Germany's primary financial regulator) conducts the owner control investigation.
