Optimized Portfolio as Listed Securities
An exchange traded index created by Morgan Stanley that closely tracks a single index without purchasing all the securities listed on that index. The value of OPALS is the aggregate value of the underlying securities. In this sense, they operate like a portfolio of securities, rather than a fund. They are marketed primarily to institutional investors.
