No-Net-Sales Policy

A practice in which a brokerage discourages clients from selling their securities. A no-net-sales policy is designed to keep a security's price higher than it otherwise would be. The policy is considered unethical.

An unscrupulous brokerage practice of discouraging or preventing investors from selling shares of a stock in order to artificially prop up the market price of a stock.
