Michalowski has demonstrated similarities and overlap between hymns and incantations - such as ending with a praise doxology - primarily in Sumerian but also in some Akkadian texts.(44) A recent note presented the interesting hypothesis that a new genre of divine hymns was created in the sixth century, designated musaru, and thus thought of as royal inscriptions.(45)
