Statistical technique for distinguishing between two groups on the basis of their observed characteristics.

Multiple Discriminant Analysis

A practice of analyzing a security using a variety of different factors. For example, an analyst may use many different financial ratios in deciding whether or not to buy a given stock. The goal of MDA is to create a Markowitz efficient portfolio.
