Al-Muhtakir(redirected from Muhtakir)
In Islamic finance, a person who hoards commodities in hopes of raising the price in order to increase his own gains. For example, a grain farmer who controls a large portion of the market may refuse to sell his grain until the price goes up. This practice is considered unjust and is prohibited in Islam.
