Moneychanger

A person or, less commonly, an institution that exchanges one currency for another on behalf of a client. For example, if one presents a moneychanger with U.S. dollars, the moneychanger may provide one with an equivalent amount of British pounds. Modern moneychangers originated in medieval Europe and were instrumental in the development of banking.
