ISO 4217 code for the Moroccan franc. It was introduced in French Morocco in 1921, and became the currency of the independent Morocco in 1957. The Moroccan dirham was introduced in 1960, but the franc remained as a subdivision of the dirham until the santim replaced it in 1974.
