The third level of the microarchitectural description used in the Motorola compilers involves the mapping of each machine instruction to one or more functional units.
However, when both arguments and the result of a call to the function + are declared to be small integers, the resulting SPARC machine code is one machine instruction.
The assembly language code is then translated by the computation code generator which uses the rule base describing the architecture of the individual processors to generate machine instructions for the target machine.
The need for faster processing led to Dallas' first redesign of the 8051, which reduced the number of clock cycles per machine instruction from 12 to 4.
A model of the operation of the machine is required to define the working parts of the machine that may require maintenance and to then translate the machine instructions into accumulation of work.
