Bangladesh's annual cotton consumption will accelerate by 50% to 6.0 million bales in four years as garment exports are on the rise, said the
International Cotton Association (ICA).
The panel discussion held on Wednesday and included five experts from various sectors of the cotton supply chain: Kai Hughes,
International Cotton Association (ICA); Andrew Macdonald, AMCON Consulting; Julia Salasky, UN Commission on International Trade Law; Quamrul Ahsan, Cotton Bangladesh; and Esther Berkelaar, Rabobank International.
The treasure trove of information came to light during an office move by the
International Cotton Association (ICA), formerly the Liverpool Cotton Association, which dates back to the mid-18th century.

This international trade was also driven by the region''s two economic engines, Liverpool and Manchester, where large and vibrant mercantile communities lived and worked, especially in, respectively, the
International Cotton Association and Manchester Exchange, which linked entrepreneurs with markets in a most effective manner.
KARACHI, May 12 -- Pakistan cotton importers are considering to go for arbitration service of
International Cotton Association (ICA) on cancellation of 200,000 cotton bales orders by Indian exporters.
It has now dropped Liverpool from its title and adopted the new name the
International Cotton Association.
