Interest-Bearing Eligible Liabilities
Deposits at a bank in the United Kingdom on which the bank must pay interest. Certificates of deposit and saving accounts are example of interest-bearing eligible liabilities. The Bank of England may limit the growth of these liabilities; it did so in the 1970s.
